Help Keep HD-16 Red and Flip HD-18 with Terri Carver
Written by Nancy Murray
Terri Carver, former State Representative, discussed her efforts to keep HD-16 Republican and to flip HD-18 back to Republican. HD-16 was won by Rebecca Keltie by 3 votes after a recount.
She will be hosting a recurring Zoom meeting starting on May 22nd, 6:45 – 8:00 PM to start the discussion on the strategy. Goal is to grow the margin by educating voters on Amy Pascal’s (current HD-18) far-left voting record. The Zoom meeting is open to all Republicans and is posted on the RSF Signal Group (for members only).
Steph Vigil, former HD-16, has already filed to take back her seat. We need to be strategic to stop her by activating low propensity Republican voters and UAF who lean Republican to vote in 2026. We need to start now.
Terri has already started by reaching out to other Republican groups to include the Young Republicans.
Terri gave an update on the three highly anticipated ballot initiatives currently at the Title Board. Once they are approved, we will have 6 months to get the necessary signatures to get the initiatives on the 2026 ballot. They include 1) bar males from participating in female sports, 2) Bar gender changing surgery on minors, and 3) Mandatory life sentence without parole for anyone convicted of child sex trafficking. Hard to believe this has to be done with citizen initiatives and not by the legislature!
Hopefully these initiatives will give us the advantage at the ballot box, as well as, appealing to UAF/R voters.
