Road to Red and Rocky Mountain Voice with Heidi Ganahl
By Nancy Murray
Heidi gave us a quick update on her health after being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing major surgery just five weeks ago. She is still working to get caught up. We were lucky to have her visit with us to give us an update on Road to Red and Rocky Mountain Voice.
She provided us some statistics following the 2024 General election. Trump lost CO by a large margin but most of CO turned more Republican. As an example, Aspen, believe it or not, went 8 points more Republican.
Heidi modeled Road to Red after efforts in other states. The goal is to build the grassroots movement with messaging and unconventional media.
Road to Red is two years old with five team members that help approximately 120 grassroots organizations reach voters. They also provide fundraising and event support through Nucleus. The goal is to help groups be more effective at the lowest cost possible. RSF is one of their accounts. We use Nucleus, a Road to Red tool for free, to communicate with our members.
Rocky Mountain Voice, the media outlet for Road to Red, consolidates conservative news sources to include original content. Their reach is currently about 200,000 Republicans with a goal to reach 1,000,000.
They have five Ambassadors that are starting regional hubs with Ft. Morgan operational and Durango and Pueblo in the works. These are separate from the GOP and the goal is to have store fronts on Main Street where people can walk in to get the latest information.
Current goals: 1) Keep the four Congressional seats; 2) Help with school board elections; 3) Help Young Republicans grow – opening their 14th chapter in CO; 4) Help Turning Point USA expand their 20 High School and 20 College chapters; 5) Push County Clerks to eliminate “garden variety” voter fraud.
Advance CO has an initiative to add the last 4 digits of the SSN to the voter envelope. This is an “establishment” group and Heidi is a bit certained of their motive to do this. They typically don’t get involved in election integrity efforts.
Heidi mentioned that she is working with someone to send a letter to all CO County Clerks identifying five things they can do without the approval of the Secretary of State to build confidence in the elections.
After the Clerks have had an opportunity to respond, RMV will have a score card for each clerk on how they respond and their progress. The score card will be available on June 4th following the press release. Republican groups will be asked to call their County Clerks and add a little pressure after June 4th.
Heidi discussed her efforts to audit Douglas County following her election loss. They discovered 30,000 ballots were missing from the post office and ballot boxes were used for “nefarious reasons”. They also discovered that Wi-Fi cards were in the machines.
Heidi did hire Rasmussen to conduct a poll on Colorado Republican primary voters. It was discovered that of 1500 primary voters, 10% were democrats, 35% were UAF voters, and 55% were Republican. She said that 35% of the Republicans in Colorado are “Never Trumpers”. She is interested to find out if this number has changed with Trump’s recent policies.
Heidy also gave an update on the CO GOP and the election of Brita Horn. She said that she supported Brita because Brita supports the Road to Red and Rocky Mountain Voice, the other candidate did not. Heidi is working with her to help build the infrastructure for the GOP. She is also encouraging Brita to do a video update for 30 days on X to explain what she is doing. She said that the GOP will not get involved in supporting candidates during the primary and that they do support closing the primary. The recent article to the contrary was false information. Heidi will encourage Brita to visit the RSF at some point in the future.
There are 4.6M registered voters in CO, 4M active, 2 M of which are UAF (60/40). Republicans have a 500K vote gap and need 200K UAF that lean democrat to vote our way. This is a BIG hill to climb.
Heidi said that she is working with Truth and Liberty to identify and target low propensity precincts. They will do this with a strategic walking app that is in development. She did say that the Turning Point app is available now for use.
Heidi encouraged everyone to attend her Gala scheduled for June 21st. The guest speaker is Eric Trump and will be held at the Marriott in Golden. Tickets are pricy at $200, but this is her major fund raiser. If you can’t attend the Gala, you can donate directly through the Rocky Mountain Voice link.
She will be holding a Road to Red Leadership Lab the following day at the same Marriott to help grassroots republican groups.
