Kristen Christianson – Heritage Action Group
By Nancy Murray
Kristen Christianson from the Heritage Action Group, a conservative advocacy group under the Heritage Foundation, spoke to the RSF on 21 May.
She is the CO state director for the Heritage Action Group and she came to discuss what they do in support of conservative policies.
She helps grassroots advocates to testify for good policies and against bad policies. Most recently she helped many people testify against the HB-1312 bill that attacks parental rights.
They also work election integrity issues to help strengthen election laws.
The Heritage Action Group maintains a scorecard on our politicians in Washington DC. You can review their score cared at https://heritageaction.com/scorecard.
During the HB-1312 hearings they tracked 360,000 emails sent to senators and Governor Polis. This was a record number. There were 700 that signed up to testify, 200 that submitted written testimony. Her organization influenced 125 people to sign up to testify,.
We do know that there are two lawsuits against HB-1312. Jesus Camp with Alliance for Religious Freedom, and Defend Colorado.
HB-1312 is causing a shift across the state. We need to build on this momentum to flip the state red.
