El Paso County GOP Updates: Key Events and Initiatives
By Nancy Murray
On August 12, 2026, Ken Davis, Chair of the El Paso County GOP, addressed attendees at the Republican Strategy Forum. His insights highlighted the ongoing strategies employed by the GOP to enhance their political influence and support candidates at various levels.
Upcoming significant events include the Lincoln Day Dinner, featuring speakers Bill Federer, President of American Minute, and Rick Green, America’s Constitution Coach with The Patriot Academy, scheduled for September 5th. The event promises an engaging atmosphere with its theme, “Boots and Bling.” The reception starts at 5:00 PM, with dinner services commencing at 6:15 PM. Tickets are priced at $125 per person, with tables of 10 available for $100 each person. Interested attendees can purchase tickets through the GOP office or online at El Paso County GOP.
Bill Federer and Rick Green will also speak earlier in the day at Church for All Nations, starting at 1:00 PM. This is a free event organized by the ACT for America Colorado Springs chapter.
In addition to these events, Rick Green and the Patriot Academy are actively raising funds to purchase land adjacent to their existing property in Texas, land that is being pursued by the Muslim community. You can donate to this effort at Patriot Academy.
The room opened for questions. Davis stated that the primary mission of the GOP remains focused on assisting candidates in securing their positions on the ballot through the caucus and assembly processes.
The GOP is partnering with Truth and Liberty to Get Out the Vote this November. A strategic approach has been developed to reach out to each voter at least twice between now and November to help educate the voter on the ballot initiatives. The effort will also concentrate on competitive races in Districts HD-18, HD-16, SD-11, CC-5, and CD-5. The GOP will also provide candidates with voter data to equip them with valuable insights for their campaigns.
Jeff Crank, CD-5, is anticipated to attend an upcoming meeting of the Republican Strategy Forum to further discuss his campaign. The Democrats have installed a candidate from the Obama and Biden administrations to target Crank’s seat.
Challenges remain at the state level, as Craig Steiner, the State GOP Chair and a resident of El Paso County, only recently received access to party funds that were frozen due to past mismanagement. While recent funds have been released, the State GOP is still facing financial constraints. Consequently, County GOP Chair’s do not expect financial support from the State. The State GOP is pursuing financial assistance from the National Republican Committee (NRC) and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).
As the election landscape evolves, the El Paso County GOP continues to adapt and strategize to ensure successful outcomes for its candidates and initiatives.
